I am proud to announce the availability of an ABS skid for the VideoRay in both in black and white!
Based on the standard VideoRay skid but made out of ABS plastic the new skid is much stronger due to the use of ABS and a few design improvements. The back bone is twice as thick and twice as wide, this allows for longer screws with better holding power. Another advantage to ABS it is repairable using Epoxy or ABS welding. ABS holds screws better, its like having a built in nylon locking nut. ABS comes in two basic colors black and white. The white ABS can be painted.

>>Four drilling & tapping hole patterns have been defined;
--The "Blank" (For the DIY person) You drill and tap the holes to meet your needs. No holes at all! Not even the mounting holes or hardware.
--The "Basic" has fewer holes for mounting weights and tools than the stock VideoRay skid, much cleaner look. (Includes Skid mounting hardware.)
--The "Extended" which has more holes and allows the weight stack to be mounted cross ways on the skid. (Includes Skid mounting hardware)
--The "Custom" You define where and how many holes you want on your skid and the hardware you want included.

>>With the Basic and Extended skid orders I include 4 each longer #6 SS mounting screws, SS #6 washers and longer Nylon shoulder washers. The longer screws help to reduce the stress point where the skid mounts to the ROV. The longer nylon shoulder washers provide more contact area for the screw and the SS washer helps to prevent the screw from digging into the nylon shoulder washer.

>>I will also be selling weight mounting kit for the small .182 disk weights. The kits will include nylon shoulder washers and screws for mounting 1,2 or 3 weight directly to the skid. Each kits will come with one pair each for mounting 1, 2 or 3 weights, each pair will include 2 nylon shoulder washers and 2 #8 screws of the correct length for the ABS skid thickness. You can still use your old shoulder washers and screws with the new skid. If you want more mounting options for mounting your weights then this kit and the Extended skid are for you! (Weights not included, VideoRay has those items for you).

I have a few skids and weight mounting kits on hand that can be shipped in a week depending on hole configuration and option requirements.
Colors available are Black and White, I have had good success painting the White skid using Krylon Fusion paint and a prep process used by model boat builders. If you want to paint it your self I will provide you with the prep procedure I use. For an additional cost (Quote) I can do any of the Krylon fusion paint colors on the White ABS for you. It will take 7 to 10 days longer as there is a 7 day cure time on the paint. (See Thread
