PC Pilot and Windows 7 64 bit

Postby DanDolson » Fri Jan 15, 2010 11:13 am

Does anyone know if PC Pilot will work on a Windows 7 machine - 64 bit? I have several options for doing a clean install on my most portable laptop and I'd like to use the latest operating system, if I can.

Thanks!

Currently, PC Pilot versions with built-in video capture will not work with 64 bit Windows. We are working on a solution, but do not have an ETA. We'll post an update as information becomes available.

Will the system work just the PC Pilot and not the video capture portion? Or does the entire software pack not function?

- or ----

Will it work in "XP" mode in 7?

From preliminary testing on 64 bit machines, the video capture is a known issue. The other aspects of PC Pilot seem to work, but we have not tested them thoroughly enough to endorse or support PC Pilot yet on 64 bit systems. VideoRay Cockpit software for the Pro 4 is not yet supported either on 64 bit systems.

Windows 7 testing is just getting underway.

We have been able to fix the video capture issue for 64 bit processors. We also have preliminary test results that show VideoRay Cockpit will work on Windows 7 or on a 64 bit machine. VideoRay Cockpit is exclusive to the Pro 4. We expect to get similar results for PC Pilot for use with Pro 3s/Deep Blues.

While we think we have a working solution, we need to, and will be, conducting more tests before considering PC Pilot or VideoRay Cockpit fully supported on 64 bit or Windows 7 systems.
